The beauty and simplicity of Bookmark Savant revolves around its tab column. During normal use the tab column is virtually invisible taking a mere single-pixel-wide strip of the left edge of your screen, yet always there. Simply move your cursor to the extreme edge of the screen and the tab column instantly slides out. Depending upon your tastes the BMS tab column can be configured to list records alphabetically or by 26 user-defined categories. (To instantly switch between alphabetic and categorical modes, depress 'Shift' key while clicking '+' button at bottom of column.)
At the very top of the column in either mode is the ''@' Menu' tab. (To view the '@' menu, place cursor over the '@' tab in the images above.) This is where address books are created and chosen plus it contains the address extraction tools. Under the '@' Menu are the alpha, or category, tabs depending on how BMS is configured. These tabs are how records are recalled. (To view a sample tab menu, place cursor over the 'A' or "Hardware' tab in the images above.) In alphabetic mode there is an 'Add Bookmark' menu item under the 'A' tab allowing user to add bookmarks which are automatically added to the proper alphabetic tab. In categorical mode, each tab has its own 'Add Bookmark' menu item. To categorically save bookmarks simply choose the 'Add Bookmark' menu item in the category you want the bookmark filed under. At the very bottom of the column in either mode is the '+' button which opens the 'Editing/Viewing' window to allow entry of a new record. If your browser is open when '+' is clicked the 'Editing/Viewing' window will open with the URL and title of the current web page already entered. |
