What is a KeyMail address?

What is a KeyMail address?
A KeyMail address looks just like any other email address. For example, "joe.books@company.com" could be a KeyMail address. However, what's different about a KeyMail is that you can assign policies of how can be used. Email from any sender that attempts to violate your policy is stopped before it can be sent.

Lets senders pass through without filtering or challenge-response
If a KeyMail is used according to your policy, it passes straight through to your inbox. It won't get filtered and it doesn't get challenged. It works just like email used to in the good 'ol days when people didn't send spam.

Create as many as you want
There's no limit to the number of KeyMails you can have. Some people create a different KeyMail for each different Web site they buy from. Others create specific KeyMails for each subscription.

All email goes to your existing inbox
All email sent to any of your KeyMails all flows to a single inbox. You never have to look at more than one place no matter how many KeyMails you have.

Powerful usage policies
Currently there are four different types of KeyMail policies:

Status
determines how the KeyMail will operate.

  • Normal: The KeyMail functions as usual
  • Validating: apply challenge-response to any new sender
  • Locked: allow only previous senders to this KeyMail and block all others.
  • Disabled: block all senders
Sender limit determines how many unique senders can use this KeyMail. This can range from 1 to infinite.

Scope determine if senders are counted by their domain only or by their full email address.

Expiration decides how long a KeyMail will live. The range can be from one day to "never die".

Does not require that you know in advance exactly who will use it
One thing that makes KeyMails really great is that you don't need to know the email address or domain name of the person or company that is going to use it. Just hand out the KeyMail. The Titan Key will automatically track that sender when they actually attempt to send their email.

Stops unauthorized mail before it can be sent
KeyMails are unique in that the polices you set are applied against every incoming email sent to them. Sender's that violate your policy are stopped before their email can be sent.
